2007/9/22~2007/9/24 Taiwan Hualien--First day--Signs of danger appearing
2007/9/22 Drove to Yuli to see the Day-lily

We had already known that that would be a successive raining vacation before we started off, but our personalities-wouldn't easy to change the goal after made decision-were instigating us to start off. Our team was organized by two girls and three dogs. Let's go! 7:00AM started from Taipei. There was no traffic jam when we passed the Hsuehshan Tunnel. It's rarely, because the Hsuehshan Tunnel was always jammed. The rocks kept falling down on the road when we drove on the Suehua High Way. Waterfalls were everywhere. Opposite road caved. Our road flooded. We experienced a lot of bad situations. A falling rock hit our car's roof. The size of the rock almost liked a fist. That scared us.

1:00PM arrived at the MainMay Pig's Hoof for lunch. The small restaurant was located in the head of the lane which leaded to the Lin Tian Shan Culture Studio. The price about the pig's hoof, big one was NT$400, small one was NT$300. I forgot to tell the waiter that I wanted to buy a small one. After waiting 20 minutes, the waiter scooped up a big one. I thought:" God! Please don't tell me that is mine." That was mine, obviously. The waiter was so busy and bathed with sweat, I was embarrassed asking him to change it to the small one. Forgot it! Let it became two meals, lunch and dinner. Nonetheless, even if we separated it became two meals, still couldn't finish off it...(>"<)

1:10PM arrived at the Lin Tian Shan Culture Studio. Not only because too many visitors sit in the MainMay Pig's Hoof caused us had no seats to sit, but also we dared not to let the dogs stayed in the car alone, we carried out the food and drove to the Lin Tian Shan Culture Studio. We ate the pig's hoof in a small pavilion. There was a family in the pavilion, too. They were eating pomelos. After a short chat, I discovered why were they here. Because of too many visitors in the MainMay Pig's Hoof, They decided to wait here until the visitors became less. They hadn't bought the food yet. While we started to enjoy our food, the good smell let them gave up the waiting. They leaved and drove toward the restaurant. Further, I told them the visitors were getting less. Even though my friend praised the pig's hoof was delicious, I thought it was so-so, probably because my parents were experts about stewed the pig's hoof. I came to the restaurant three times, I though it wasn't as delicious as I expected. Due to the pouring rain, we couldn't visit the Lin Tian Shan Culture Studio. Fortunately, I visited here last year, so I didn't disappointed.

Drove from Rueisuei to Yuli, the line 193 was my favorite route. Every time I came to Haulien, I always traveled Rueisuei by this road. It's very narrow, not easy to overtake a car. Nonetheless, because the view around the line 9 wasn't very beautiful, I'd love to use the line 193 more. I always rented a motorcycle in Rueisuei, rode it to everywhere to enjoy the fresh air. Nonetheless, we drove car this time. The trip was not so fun without the wind, but drove car was the better idea when we were in the pouring rain.

There were mountains and fields around the line 193.

3:30PM started drove into the mountain "Sixty Stone Mountain". We had not only one time thought we got lost. 4:00PM arrived at the Yuen-Min Grange. It's a part of the parking lot in front of the grange. The original plan was that we borrowed a bicycle not only rode it to the top of the mountain but also had a romantic sunset, but the rain was so heavy…forget it.

The view surrounded the Yuen-Min Grange was very beautiful. It's a small stroll footpath beside the grange. My friend had already brought the dogs into the house. I was walking in the rain alone. It's very leisurely and carefree.

Because of the beautiful view, I made room reservation with the Yuen-Min Grange that was built in the middle of the mountain and surrounded by other mountains. If not only because of the pouring rain but also the dense fog, we could see the faraway mountains and fields. The owner of the B&B said: "if the sun appears tomorrow morning, there will be a chance to see a sea of clouds. It's high probability to see a sea of clouds in autumn." but we all knew…tomorrow still would be a raining day…@@

All the view we could see couldn't beyond 100m.

Rarely, the fog was weakening.

If there was no rain, sat here to enjoy the night scenes was a great idea. There was a pavilion beside the grange. (I forgot to take the picture.) The original plan was that had a drink (tea) under the starry sky. Nonetheless, not only because of the pouring rain but also I had realized that my friend went to bed very early, I wad afraid to stay in the dark alone, miscalculated. The price about the dinner in the Yuen-Min Grange was not expensive. The original plan was that we had dinner here, ordered 3 dishes and 1 soup, but we gave up the original plan, because of the Pig's Hoof Event. We kept hardly nibbling the pig's hoof.

Although everyday was raining and dark clouds were covering the sky, I still took a picture of the mood. It didn't show its' face over 5 minutes.

10:00PM my friend went to sleep, it's not my sleep time. In 1F, some tenants played the billiards, some had a chat, some played mahjong, and some played karaoke. It's very mirthful. I decided to take the picture of night scenes. I took this picture from the parking lot. Because not only the steady shot function couldn't work at night but also I didn't know how to use my friend's DV, other pictures were failed, so sad. The owner of the B&B was a nice woman. While she saw me went to the garden, she turned on the garden's light, avoided me fell into the dale. She didn't turn off the light, even though I went back to my room.
P.S. While there rained a lot with big wind in the Yuen-Min Grange, few rooms would leak. This time, our room didn't leak, but flooded…@@
